I have started composing a Magnificat, a choral piece based on the latin text of the same name. I read the text and the translation and started composing it. I've reached the third page and decided to play it to a fellow musician, my good friend. He's not an expert, but he knows a bit about latin sacred texts and what the character of songs which use them must (well, should) be. He's very confident in that info, so I felt a bit shaken when he told me my Magnificat was "too mystical, it should be happier". Should I add a different text to the music I've written so far, or should I listen to myself and trust my impression of the text? I have always wanted to set latin text to music, and a Magnificat seemed like a perfect start. Thanks!

I played an idea to my composition teacher in my music school. He immediately suggested it would make a great song for piano and a solo singer. He left me with this task of finding text for it. I immediately thought of Dante's Inferno, perhaps the last circle when Dante faces Lucifer. I was thinking of doing it in Italian. I'd kindly ask you to OK this idea, or suggest another text source, language, etc. I was planning on taking only a few key verses, not the entire circle.

I have been playing piano for 9 years and organ for the last 3. I have been composing since I was 13. Most of my compositions have been short preludes for the piano. However as of the beginning of this year, I became extremely interested in orchestras, symphonies and composing such works. I have started working on the first movement of a big orchestral work after finishing 2 thirds of Samuel Adler's The Study of Orchestration manual. I'm really doing good with my work so far, however there is one thing which keeps bugging me. Should I finish the last third of the Adler book before starting to compose the work again, should I keep composing simultaneously and make corrections later, or should I make a piano reduction of the whole work first and orchestrate it later? What should I do? I'm somewhat leaning towards the second option, since I'm loaded with ideas and eager to compose. I'd really respect your opinions on this matter!

I'm writing a choral piece, but I don't know a small detail. I want a series of chords to be hummed, but I don't know how to indicate it in a score? Is there a professional term (italian, french, or german) that I can use, because "hum" sounds a bit spartanic.

I have relatively thick, dense hair, and a lot of it. However, I have noticed that my hair might be falling out. When I lift my hair from my forhead, I find my forhead is not higher, hairline is the same, but it has lost its "dome" curve, instead the hair in the top left and right corners has somewhat vanished, as following sort of a "Y" pattern. I am 16 years old, and it is not greatly expressed, but I do not wish for it to become so. As for my habits, I do not drink or smoke (NEVER HAVE), drink a VERY ocasional cup of coffee. The only reasons I could connect to potential hair loss are sleep depriation and slight stress, as I go to 2 high schools at a time. Should I be worried? If so, what can I do to stop hair loss at this age?

The deadline is due for tomorrow, and I still can't find a proper name. The composition is 4 minutes long, very fast tempo, but doesn't have an overall theme. It is rather modern.

I'm using starcraft (1) Campaign Editor and have a question. Can I alter the heroes' abilities in any way? E.g. damage, duration etc. I'm talking about, for instance, changing Tassadar's lightning special abilities damage?

I'm making crouton snacks. I cut the bread in little cubes and baked it. The problem is, I made a spice mix which I don't know how to "stick" to the bread. It should be something like "Kubeti" ( http://www.italfoodindustry.com/kubeti-portfolio-e... ) but I can't get the spices to remain on the bread cubes, rather than just fall of when picked up or shaken. Or if you've ever eaten Bruschette Maretti, I want the spices to stay on the bread cubes as there too. Can you please help me?

Please help me! I own an iPod Touch second generation and it has been fine untill now. I just turned it on with the charger, since the battery needed charging, and I got the square volume indicator on my screen at all times. Almost as if the bottom volume button was stuck. I think so, since the volume keeps going down, therefore the indicator won't go away. Could you please help me?

I'm having troubles with camera movement in Toon Boom Studio. Can I please get some help from animators? I have this background in one layer and a man in the other layer. I made the man bounce up and down slowly, so it looks like he is walking. Then I meant to add a spontaneous zoom to the background to appear as though as the man is approaching it. I haven't worked a lot with pegs, but since they are the essentials in the camera move, I got stuck there, and am asking you to help me.
