  • Moving away- family troubles?

So my boyfriend of 8 years got a job that is six hours away from where we currently live and would have to relocate. I of course am moving with him, so I can also start my career and have new experiences and live in a new environment. I have lived in the same state and town since I was two years old, so this will be the first place I will be moving where my immediate family is not within 40 minutes.

My family is not so happy about the situation. They tell me they don't want me to leave and make me feel guilty that I am moving so far away from them. I feel like they are not giving me the support that I need for my big first move. Every time I bring it up, they either get sad or not talk about it much.

If your wondering, my family does not hate my boyfriend so that is not the reason why they don't want me to move. However, they never make enough effort to include him in any family activities where his family practically takes me everywhere with them. This is a whole other story, though.

    Anyways-

Is it just because Im the baby of the family? My parents have always been kind of strict with me when I was growing up, and maybe they are just frustrated that I am no longer under their control. Maybe they just realized that I have not been a teenager for quite some time now, and they need to face the facts.

This is seriously driving me crazy. I am moving in a week, mind you, and nothing is going to change it. I just wish my family would be supportive of me and my decisions.

    Opinions?

  • Why am I dreaming about ex crush? (Trust me, I do not still like him at all!)?

When I was a senior in high school I had a crush on a guy for about six months who in the end turned out to be a total jerk and haven't spoken a word to him since before I had prom! I had this crush when I broke up with my boyfriend of about 2 years, then got back together that summer and have been together ever since (its been 3 years since senior HS). I couldn't be happier in my long committed relationship and we are planning on getting married in the future.

For a while now, every month or so I have dreams about that ex crush (the jerk). In all of them he is annoying me and I want nothing to do with him. But the dream I had last night was different from them all in the fact that he was actually nice and I was falling for him again. I woke up pissed off that my dream made me think about him that way again.

Why do I occasionally have dreams about him even though I have no feelings for him anymore whatsoever?

    Please I want serious answers/insight.

  • Is my dog pouting? He wont eat!?

My 10 year old west highland terrier is already a picky eater- but he at least eats a little bit of the food we give him.

Last week, my mother was on vacation, and he seemed down the whole week until she returned. One day he refused to eat his breakfast (hes usually fed around 6 or 7am) until 3pm! My dad and I had tried everything to try and get him to eat. Because he didnt eat he ended up vomiting from his upset stomach.

This current week, my dad has been gone on business and today my dog is doing the same thing and not eating his breakfast! I can hear his stomach rumbling so its not like he isnt hungry...

Is he mad that my parents were gone? Is this his way of pouting?

I will be leaving for a week right when my dad gets back and I dont want him to do the same thing again!

Is there anything my family can do?

  • Weird Rashes...Please help!?

My boyfriend recently had a real nasty rash on his hip that was first red, but then it blistered into a puss bubble....I wanted him to get it checked out but a couple days later it eventually popped and is scabbing.

He has a water-bed that to my opinion gets too hot...could this have been a heat rash? How dangerous is this?

Also, we were recently outside and he had his shirt off and was exposed to the sun for a while and he started to get small red rashes on his chest and back. After I sprayed sunscreen on him they went away. What was that rash about?

His family has history of cancer, though Im not sure about skin cancer. I want to make sure if he gets these rashes again, it wont turn into something worse. Are there any tips he can use to stop getting so many rashes?

    Thank you!

  • College rooming with best friends who drink but I dont?

My two long-time best friends and I are planning on rooming together for our sophomore year in college.

Im stressing over the fact that they both drink/party but I dont- I see no benefit or need to drink and they sometimes say things to pressure me into it or say something like "Oh come on its not that bad" They basically make ME feel like the odd one out or the bad guy because Im some sort of party-pooper.

I know who I am and I will not be pressured into that kind of stuff. But every time they talk about it- it makes me feel extremely uncomfortable when they know I dont approve of it.

The problem with the rooming situation: They basically told me that they will more than likely be coming back to our dorm drunk sometimes and they even suggested they might stash some alcohol in the room. If they get caught with it- Im in the same boat as them because I live there. I am NOT willing to risk getting caught.

Now you see the predicament I am in?

I need others (mature) input please.

  • Tattoo of my/and boyfriend's zodiac signs?

I have been thinking really hard about getting my first tattoo (Im 18); I always wanted my sign (Cancer). I saw a great tattoo online (http://www.bmeink.com/A70306/high/bmepb470897.jpg) of my sign and the Scorpio sign- which is my boyfriend's.

I really want this tattoo, but my friends think its a bad luck. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 3 years and we are practically engaged and we plan on getting married once we graduate from college.

I know he's the one and I want to show him that I want to be with him forever.

Should I get the double sign tattoo or just get my own then later on add his once we are married?

  • Will Alli work for a college life student?

I am currently a freshman in college and I am seriously thinking about committing to Alli. I have been to the website and know all about the treatment effects.

Because I live on campus and eat in a dining hall, I am concerned that I won't really know how much fat I am consuming during my meals (Alli says to consume no more than 15g of fat per day). There are plenty of choices at my dining hall and I want to make sure I can take Alli knowing the kinds of foods I should look for in advance and how much to take- so I DONT end up with the treatment effects.

If I could have a list of foods that would most likely be in college dining halls and the right portions, I would be most grateful.

    Thank you!

  • What exactly is an "on-call" job?

    I recently got a job at Macy's.

My manager said she did not have any part-time schedule available for the kind of hours I wanted, so she offered me an on-call job and I took that.

My manager told me that since its the holidays, there are always open hours to work- so it would be like working part-time.

Since its on-call, does that mean I will never know when I will work? How much time in advance will I know when they want me to come in?

  • What if Harry Potter lost his powers instead of dying?

What if in order to kill/defeat Voldemort, Harry had to give up his magical powers in some way? This would end the series, and it could be an alternative to dying...

In which case we need to wonder what will the wizarding community do or react to the situation? Would they still accept him or would they have to shun him because he is a Muggle? Would he be considered a Squib?

  • How can I survive as a college freshman?

I just graduated high school, and I am going to college this fall. I am already very shy, but my senior year in high school made me probably 80% more confident in myself. But now that I have to start over and be a freshman again, my nerves are coming back. Three of my friends are attending the same college as I am, so that helps a little for me.

What can I do to make new friends in college, handle the "freedom" from parents, adapt to having a total stranger as a roommate, deal with all the classes and work, and possibly find a great boyfriend?

(I know I’m asking a lot, but any advice will be greatly appreciated.) Thank you!
