Do you think that they should bring the "Center" position back into the NBA All-Star Game?
I thought the whole "Big Man" concept was stupid because there are still some quality centers in the league. I also think that the voting should be done by a players numbers and not just by popularity or because their team is losing.
5 個解答Basketball7 年前So, are the new Hornets going to retrieve the old Charlotte Hornets' records from the Pelicans?
All the records from 1988-2002. And I wonder if they're going to combine them with the Bobcats' records or just get rid of 'em (Bobcats) completely.
2 個解答Basketball7 年前Should the Grizzlies retire Shareef Abdur-Rahim's number?
Im a numbers guy, so I think so. He was a double-digit scorer out the gate and had 4 20 pt. seasons. Forget the injuries and what not. He deserves it. He could also play 3 different positions on the floor(SF,PF,C), but his primary was SF. Like Kevin Love today, he had a nice inside-outside game. Lets be honest, he's one of the greatest players in that franchise's history. They only been around for almost 20 years. Feel free to make the argument.
5 個解答Basketball7 年前How good was former NBA player and Houston Rocket John Lucas?
I know that he was one of the best PGs in the 80's, despite the drug problems. I just need a scouting report.
1 個解答Basketball7 年前How good would players today be if the NBA didn't have the defensive and offensive three second violations?
The NBA is more offensive oriented now but defense is 50% of the game too. It needs to be a balance. Sure, we all love the exciting dunks and stuff like that but I like players gettin physical too. I bet you teams wont play that 'small ball' crap anymore. Shot-blocking would get a resurgence because there aren't any 'true' ones anymore. Players like Kendrick Perkins and David West would love this and players could truly post up again. They have it too easy now and days and I hate it. Your thoughts?
1 個解答Basketball7 年前How good would Jason Collins have been if he played in the Jordan era?
He plays good defense and sets hard screens. The only two things he cant do is force turnovers and block shots(well he might get an occasional one.) That era wasn't all about athleticism like it is now and Jason isn't exactly going to 'jump out the gym', but he has some skill.
3 個解答Basketball7 年前If you could create you're own basketball league what current rules would you take away?
I would:
*Get rid of the 3 second rule(this would allow big men to be more dominant again in the post. Dont mind them shooting jumpers though. Players get in the lane too easy now and days and there aren't really any true shot-blockers anymore, with a few acceptions.)
*Bring handchecking back.
*Allow the game to be a little more physical like in the Jordan era(Im not saying that I want players clothes lining each other and stuff like that but they need to play that hardcore defense, like they do in college ball.)
3 個解答Basketball7 年前Why hasn't a Marvel vs DC fighting game been made?
This would be good. They'd be a whole bunch of characters, plus, some codes to get other ones. You could play as all the versions of Green Lantern and other characters from the comics(John Stewart, Hal Jordan, etc.) as swap characters.
4 個解答Comics & Animation7 年前What was the main type of defense and offense played in the Jordan era?
Did they play 2-3 zone defense?
Did they play mainly isolation offense?
2 個解答Basketball7 年前Why aren't the Kings, Warriors, Rockets and Spurs big market teams?
Considering the fact that they are based in Texas, California. Aren't the Magic small market as well? They're in Florida. I just go by the state they're in.
5 個解答Basketball7 年前Should the Zen Master have Melo playing the 2 and 3 instead?
I think he'd be more consistent at the two than Shumpert Plus, Phil wants to build the team around him so this would make sense, shifting Melo's focus to what he does best, scoring and rebounding.
2 個解答Basketball7 年前Does anyone else hates when NBA teams play small ball?
Im a traditional type of guy so this is one of the problems I cant stand about today's NBA other than the lack of defense and post play. I never liked Miami having Chris Bosh as a 5, although they didn't have much of a choice because Joel Anthony wasn't consistent enough. The 5 has always been Bosh's secondary position but to me, he shouldn't be playing it full-time. Hell, I wouldn't mine Birdman playing the 5, even though he's undersized as well. Although Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are natural PFs,they have the size and length to play the 5, so im cool with that.

2 個解答Basketball7 年前What is the best definition of a pure shooter?
A pure shooter to me is a player thats consistent at hitting shots from mid-range, the perimeter and the three-point line. Basically an all-around shooter. Im tired of some people classifying three-point shooters as true shooters when they cant even knock it down from mid-range. I guess its because the mid-range game is less important now. Players like Steph Curry, Kyle Korver, Steve Nash and Steve Novak to me are pure shooters.
2 個解答Basketball7 年前Do you think that the zone defense made everyone a good defender?
I personally think that in the Jordan era, the players not known for their defense became better defenders by playing zone defense. Like, I've always known "Thunder dan Majerle as a shooter, but I did further research and found out that he was a good defender also. Now, if he played in this era, which is more offensive-minded, he'd probably be just a spot-up shooter. Some teams still play zone today, but its not the same like it use to be because of the spacing.
1 個解答Basketball7 年前Do you think they should do the list of the 100 Greatest Players in NBA History?
The 50 Greatest player list came out in '96, so I think, they should do a list in 2016 and every 10 or 20 years after that. This time, Dominique Wilkins, who wasn't on the first list, would be on it.
4 個解答Basketball7 年前Do you think there is a way for the NBA to play today's style of offense and the Jordan era defense?
I like seein the flashy dunks, the atheticism and all that but I wanna see that real defense too. Handcheckin, players playin zone, etc. I dont like the fact that the NBA has become more of an offensive-minded league. The Jordan era was the best time for basketball compared to this soft *** league. Big men were big men and teams didn't play that small-ball nonsense. I mean, I dont mind a big man takin a mid-range jumper or a three-pointer, but they have to have a post game too. Speakin of the mid-range game, its also suffered, as players now, would rather take the higher percentage three. I like the three-point shot, but players need to go back to basics and learn how to shoot that 17-18 footer with a hand in their face also. I dont mind a player gettin a lil space to dribble but I think they're gettin too many freebies now and because theres hardly any great perimeter and post defense anymore, its like players are lettin their opponents shoot or get by them. In the Jordan era and before, pure shooters were stars too (Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin, Glen Rice, etc.) Today's pure shooters are mostly role players. I guess the way the league is now is how people wanted it but me, im old school. I wanna see them mix it up, but that probably wont happen.
3 個解答Basketball7 年前If these relocated NBA teams had changed their nicknames, what would they be?
In my opinion the nicknames represented the team's former cities more:
*Los Angeles Lakers (formerly the Minneapolis Lakers; land of a thousand lakes). Would the Los Angeles Stars or Los Angeles Flash worked?
*Utah Jazz (formerly the New Orleans Jazz); they coulda took the old ABA team nickname and called themselves the Utah Stars) Then, the Hornets woulda stayed in Charlotte probably.
