We are a 57 year old couple who are thinking of spending a holiday in Majorca. I have been there 3 time, but back when I was in my 20's. All 3 times I stayed in Palma Nova, in a hotel.

Should we rent an apartment/house....use a hotel?

Suggestions from people our age would be appreciated.

We'd like a small suite, just big enough that one person can watch TV if the other one is asleep.

We'd prefer to be on the Strip.

We'd like a large shower......all the floor plans I have seen have small showers and large tubs.

....of course we want to get our monies worth and not go too high on the price.

Flying is not an option.

For many years I have noticed that a lot of women think that a stranger buying them a drink is just a friendly gesture and nothing more.

I have always maintained that a man buying a stranger a drink was a way to begin some kind of contact with the woman in order to determine if a relationship of some kind can be established. This can vary from one night stand to possible dating.

If, as many women think, the man is only being nice, why then do they think that they have no obligation to reciprocate by buying a drink in return?

We plan on going in either April or October.

We would like a small suite so that if one of us can't sleep or is awake before the other, we have somewhere to sit and watch TV.

I prefer a large shower over a large bathtub.

I think I would like to stay on the Strip, but I have heard many differing opinions on that.

I was leaning towards the MGM Grand, but am open to all recommendations.

This will be our first trip to Vegas. Some tell us to book our flight and hotel together, others say book the flight online, but book the hotel directly through the hotel itself. Some say call the hotel, others say book online. Also, which website is best?

....or if there are many, list them in the order of preference.

We would fly out of the Northeast and stay four to six nights.

We are a couple in our fifties. We will be traveling in October. I would like a nice room, but I want to get my money's worth. We were leaning towards the MGM Grand, but I thought I would make some inquiries first.

My wife and I are tired of going to hotels and they have jacuzzi tubs that are supposed to fit two people and unless you are 4 foot 6 inches tall, they are barely able to fit one. We also are tired of these same rooms that have tiny showers with barely enough room for one person, let alone two.

To make this clear; I am talking about regular rooms and lower end suites, not high end luxury suites or adult motels.

Preferably something on the Strip.

I realize the trick to saving money is timing. I would also like to book everything together (hotel/flight). The last time three times I went to Vegas it was last minute, so I have nothing to base this on.

We are four adults, 40 - 50 years old. We are heading out at the middle/end of January. We will be flying out of the New York area. We will preferably be staying at the MGM Grand (but are open to suggestions). The length of the trip will be 5 - 6 nights.

How many weeks out should I book the trip?

NO THEME PARKS!!! So Disney and places like that are out of the question.

I have already explored Las Vegas. Which includes Grand Canyon and other attractions in that area.

I am looking for something that we may not have thought of or overlooked.

We are flying to Fort Sill in a couple of weeks to attend my son's BCT graduation. We may be driving back, but a lot will depend on how and when my son is released.

He is not Regular Army, he is a Reservist.

He is NOT going to AIT until next summer, he is returning to college, one week after his BCT graduation.

Will they release him right after graduation or will they hold him till the next day?

He will not be signing out on leave since any leave accrued will just be paid to him, since he is a Reservist.

Please respond if you have any first hand experience with this.

This is a repeat of an earlier question....I only got one response, so I am reposting.

We will be flying in to see my son graduate from basic training. My question is: What day of the week is best to fly in? The graduation itself will be on a Friday. They are supposed to be having family events on Thursday.

Are the family events worth attending?

What is a typical schedule for these events?

What day do they typically release the trainees? Right after graduation or the next day?

He is reserves, returning to college, so AIT waits until next summer. Will they issue him a plane ticket? Or will he purchase it on his own?

Believe it or not...in my day, they issued you one to go home on leave.

If you have attended or were cadre or were a recent trainee, please advise.
