Can someone provide me with catchy, top-40 type songs in French. I'm trying to improve my French by listening to music, but it has to be good. Nothing weird or outdated.

I've done over a year and a half (almost) of French classes and am pretty good with grammar. I am very fixated on grammar, and sometimes have trouble understanding fast, spoken French. But I can understand the way a French teacher speaks. I can barely understand a single word of informal French.

I plan to take another year of intensive French classes (2 to 3 times a week).

Than in 2014 I hope to do a 4 month immersion program in Quebec somewhere.

Do you think by then I will be bilingual? Because honestly, I'm going to be mid twenties by then and if this bilingual thing doesn't take off by then, I don't know what more I can do.

Any advice would help, thank you.

The hardest part about learning French is there are very few easy, simple listening resources.

Now, you can overwhelm me with Youtube videos, but I need French to be subtitled before ever dreaming of being able to understand what they are actually saying. That way I can read the french text while listening to the sounds.

Can anyone help me find good french listening material or give me advice?

I've read so many people say that in order to learn a language immersing yourself is a MUST. Is this really true? I've had French teachers who can converse in French, but have never lived in a French speaking country.

I'm constantly discouraged by people exaggerating the level of effort required to learn French. I just read someone say it took them 7 years to reach intermediate level. If it takes you that long, than you're not even trying.

I take a class every week, but on my free time I try and read and listen to French. And I've come very far in only 4 months.

Do you really need immersion? I live in Canada and a lot of people speak French. Can't I just find a friend to talk to?

So I bought Rosetta Stone levels 1 through 3. Now I want to buy levels 4 and 5. However, it seems like the geniuses at Rosetta Stone only sell either 1-3 or 1-5. They don't sell them individually,

How do I get access to level 4 and 5, I really want to complete these levels, but I already have level 1 through 3.

I spent a lot of the summer reading up on French grammar, I am now taking a beginner French class and I even use Rosetta Stone too.

I am often discouraged by people trying make it seem like learning a new language is impossible and only they have the talent and wisdom to do it. I have no one to try speaking French with, I live in Ontario where there aren't many french speakers. But I still want to learn French.

My french classes have 3 beginner levels, 3 intermediate levels and 2 advanced levels and I intend to get through them all in the next 2 years or so. Will I be fluent by the end? Or do classes not guarantee fluency?

How long will it take me to learn French given everything I have said?

I'm having a hard time maintaining a grasp on all the french I have tried to learn. I feel it is important to read basic french to get the hang of it. But there is nothing "basic" that I can find online. Wikipedia articles and other content is just too hard for me.

I was just curious how much internet does Skype use? I want to know if I use Skype for 2 hours does it use up internet as each second goes by or does it use a fixed amount per call you make?

My internet bill has gone up by quite a bit, and I'm hoping using Skype has nothing to do with it. Is it any worse than using MSN?

Most of the comments I hear about her say she's "brain dead" or some other mean comment. Sarah Palin is dumb, I get that. But Nancy Pelosi is not a dumb woman. I feel like people think she's a radical liberal and that's why she's so hated. But it even seems people in her own party don't like her. Why? From what I gather she only wants America to be progressive and catch up with the rest of the developed world. She just got a health care bill passed too, that's a good thing.

How do the rich travel in limos all the time, especially in places like Manhattan?

Do they have a 24 hour chauffeur? Does he show up whenever you want with just a simple phone call? Where does he go when he drops you off? Is that his coffee break?

I've read Yahoo Answers for a long time and when people ask where the dangerous areas are WHY do the people here claim New York is the safest city in the world and how you'll be fine anywhere? That's simply not true. Why not give them the truth? When I went to New York the tour guide warned us not to get too comfortable in Alphabet City saying there were 2 murders a night there. That's a valid reason to be nervous.

I think the people who give these knee jerk response about how safe New York City is and how it's totally safe are just as ignorant as those who claim it's rampant with crime everywhere.

So why do the native New Yorkers lie and say that New York is totally safe everywhere when it's not? European cities are much safer, Canadian cities are much safer, so let's not pretend New York is a perfect little city without crime.

What details should I know before buying it?

I don't want to screw this up, I had enough trouble with Skype.

I'm 19 years old and I don't even do my own banking and I let my Mom deal with my money and I have quite a bit for my age, but it all goes towards school (as far as I know).

I have been coughing for almost 3 weeks. I cough the worst in the morning and before I go to bed. It's become a dry cough now. I live in Toronto and it's cold outside, but I never have a cold for this long.

I'm seeing this guy who I really like and don't want to lose. And the other day I brought up something he did that was quite awful. And I made him feel bad and very angry at himself for doing what he did. I told him I've moved on, but he still thinks I see him differently because of the whole incident.

I want to show him I'm sorry when I see him next Saturday. How do I do it? Words won't do it. I need some sort of ingenius idea that's going to make him know that I care for him.

I'm gay and I've just entered my first relationship with a boy. I've never ever loved someone other than my family, but I think I love this guy. We've never fought, we get along great, and he's very committed, as am I.

But the problem is he'll be consistently gone for the next three years at a school that's 9 hours away. So I'll see him every month maybe even less.

My friend's parents are going away on vacation for a week. He wants just two nights alone but his parents instructed his grandparents to check up on him and sleep over for a few nights.

Is it better if you "bond" while making out? As in you go back and forth between making out and talking?
