altitude sickness and oxygen tanks?
I'm not even sure if this will help but would like to see if anyone knows of any inherit risks.
I'm in the Armed Forces and am about to take our annual physical fitness test, the test consists of 2 minutes of push ups (min 40 max 75 in that time) Sit ups (50min 80max) 2 mile run (13:00min 16:30max). The only thing is that this year I'm doing it at a training station that is a mile higher than where I just came from. I've had altitude sickness a few times while training and it is very frustrating since it is greatly hampering my ability to perform, particularly with the run.
I need to do very well on this test (read max scores) so I thought about it and was planning to rent a small oxygen tank either medical or scuba (is there a difference?) and take a few hits from it between each event to re-oxidize my blood.
My question goes out to A) anyone crazy enough to have done this before B) Scuba divers or Medical professionals who know of any risks/benefits C) Fitness gurus who might be able to recommend a better way to adapt given that I have only 4 days before the test
Thank you in advance!

1 個解答Other - Health1 十年前The new Post 9-11 GI Bill Housing allowance, how soon does it start coming in?
I just started using the new Post 9-11 GI Bill. I'm in a private school and only receive 70% of the GI Bill (I started ROTC before I reached the 100% mark). I'm totally relying on the housing allowance to pay off the difference as I can't pay both tuition and my rent without it. I was originally told that the housing should come in within a month of starting, however now I'm getting the "Oh we don't control that" line.
My question is, does anyone have experience with the Chapter 33 Post 9-11 GI Bill and how long it typically takes to start getting the housing allowance?
1 個解答Military1 十年前I was recently denied Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. How long does the appeal take?
I sent in my Notice of Disagreement and sent in proof that I am eligible based off the bill description and the VA's website. It is very obvious I was wrongfully declined and in my appeal I sent in pretty darn concrete proof that I am eligible. I was suppose to start school in July and I cannot pay for it without the benefits. How long am I look at? I've heard it can take years. More importantly is there a way to speed up the process?
Thanks
3 個解答Military1 十年前How hard is going from Active Duty Army to Army Reserves/National Guard for Army Officer (2LT)?
So here is my sitrep in a nutshell. I'm in ROTC and graduating next year, already did 2 years enlisted and then got my green 2 gold scholarship. I am opting to go Reserves or Guard because I want to continue my education and get into Medical School and then go Active as an Army Doctor after my M.D. Now I was recently told because I have a green to gold scholarship that there is a high chance that even though I request reserves I will be sent Active Duty. That's fine, no problem. What I'm curious is how quickly can I request to be transferred to Reserves/Guard so that I can continue this training towards my M.D. I really just want to serve as a Doctor as I feel not only would it be a good option for my future but it would help serve the Army as Army Doctors are getting harder to find. Note: I cannot do Med/Ed Delay as I don't have my Premed finished yet and the Army has already said they are unwilling to delay me unless I can show an acceptance letter to a Med School (without premeds not going to happen). So my only real option is do them while I serve, which take a very long time while Active.
Any advice about any of this would be appreciated. Thanks.
3 個解答Military1 十年前What do I need to marry someone on F-1 Visa status.?
I am a US Citizen born and raised. I have been dating an international student on F-1 Visa Status. She has been on F-1 Status for about 6 months (note she has been in and out of the country for vacation for 2 years). When I propose she will have been the country for about 8 months - 10 months on F-1 Status. She is attending the college here with me and may have one misdemeanor on her record here due to a misunderstanding with another student.
The big questions I have are:
1) What do we need to do to be legally married in California as far as forms, procedures, documents, ect?
2) What will her status be after the marriage?
3) Can she work in the United States following the marriage (legally) if so what forms or procedures do I need to do make this so?
4) How long does the process usually take and what happens if her F-1 Status expires during the process (but not before we are married)?
Thank you.
