about 3 weeks ago my pc has just about stopped, every time i click on anything it takes forever for the page to come up, and at the top of the window it says , not responding, i have cleaned and scanned , scanned and cleaned with every anti virus and malware i can download still no change , does anyone have any ideas what is causing this

my gf's laptop has a 64 bit and a 32 bit internet on it she can not access the 32 bit or any of her files, tried to run a scan but will not open, the 64 bit will let her on facebook but that is about it, any info would be helpful as to what is going on,
