Freezer problem?
The top of my upright freezer feels cold, and if I leave old newspapers on it, they get damp. Is it possible for the insulatin material in a fridge/freezer to go bad, or is there another explanation ?

I have a 1980s Broads cruiser with some bad wiring, and would like to get a wiring diagram to help me get things right. I am an electrician but don't have much experience of boat wiring. Can anybody help ? Thanks.

Our kitchen was refurbished, and the cooker had a hood installed on the outer wall, with stainless steel outlet and a hole in the external wall. But the steel pipe was left open at the end, and the exit hole is only half the size of the steel flue. Much of the exhaust air from the gas stove comes back into the room instead of going outside. Am I right in thinking that this installation was not done properly ? It's 5 years old and I'm wondering if we have a claim ?

My club has a new website which others can use, but when I try to log in, it won't show the toolbar that allows me to sign in. I have reinstalled Chrome and Firefox but no joy. I tried a computer running W10 and no problem. Is there a fix for W7 ?

Notice how many "questions" there are with positive answers about Bose, even though most audiophiles think Bose are very over-priced ? Well I think Bose are trying to counter honest opinions by sending in bogus questions. If you agree, please send in questions criticising Bose, to even up the score. I will choose a best answer which reflects my opinion - like most people do.

I'd like to insulate a steel urn used for boiling water for hot drinks. It only needs to be heat-resistant up to the boiling point of water. and is preferably not absorbent, so it won't soak up any spills. I want to make a waistcoat and hat. Has anybody else done this, if so what did they use and did it work well ?
2 個解答Sculpture4 年前Sennheiser radio microphone system - change frequency ?
I have an EW100 G2 system with beltpack transmitter, but it has not been used for 5 years. I've been told the 83-86Mhz range is no longer used for wireless systems, so that if I use it, it may suffer from interference.
Could the crystals be changed so the system operates on a lower frequency ? I could do it myself, but if a radio repair shop did it, what would it cost ?

My petrol strimmer won't start - carburettor not priming. I found the black fuel feed line has gone all soft inside the petrol tank. The return line is clear plastic, I'm not sure if the feed line is plastic or rubber.
Am I mistaken in thinking that the black tubing is poor quality, and that I should replace both lines with clear plastic tubing ?

I live in a victorian terraced house with a mini-cellar i.e a 4ft high space under the ground floor. It has no proper floor and can't be increased in height. Rats have dug through the lime mortar under the bottom brick course. They haven't been a serious problem yet but have eaten vegetables stored in the cellar. I've put the veg in a rat-proof container, but I'd like to stop the rats coming in. I don't want just to re-mortar the hole, I'd like to cover the floor with a galvanised wire mesh which goes part-way up the wall so that even if they dig through the mortar they can't get in.
Please help IF you have relevant experience, I don't want to know what people THINK will work, I want to be confident of success before I buy materials & start work.
1 個解答Other - Home & Garden5 年前USe garage roof space ?
I have been asked if I can put an upper floor in a garage with an assymmetrical pitched roof and modern roof trusses i.e. one big triangle and bracing timbers to make more triangles. The horizontal timbers are only 70mm wide (the biggest dimension) and the trusses are 600mm centres. Trusses are about 4m long, 3 of them evenly spaced in the width of the garage( 2.4m)
If I put a beam in the centre under the trusses, supported it at the ends and strapped it to each truss, would the trusses then be strong enough to support a floor ?
I'm thinking 12mm ply or sterling/OSB as the space will be used for storing light items, not as a living space. Is here a structural engineer or builder who can advise please ? i.e. what size beam. I'm thinking to floor about 1metre at each end and leave a 2m gap in the middle.
