I'm about to become a mum- are my own parents being unreasonable?
I'm in my 30s and very happily married with my first child on the way in around 6 weeks. I converted our spare room into a nursery and moved the sofa bed into another room. Admittedly it is cramped in there but there's nowhere else to put it.
My parents stayed over months ago and said nothing about it. However, with 6 weeks to go they announce that the room isn't comfortable enough for them to stay in. My 66 year old mum says she's hurt her knee and can't "scramble" into bed. I hadn't actually invited them, but much later found out that they wanted to stay to help out with their grandson. My dad asked if I could rearrange the furniture and get rid of some of our stuff. There's no other way of arranging what we have and they only stay 2 or 3 times per year usually.
I feel very upset that they have left this until now; like I've got nothing better to do. They also say they wouldn't be prepared to sleep on an inflatable mattress. My questions are whether I am right to be upset and what I should do? Thanks.
8 個解答Family8 年前I fell out with my friend over several things including her v. rude bf. Should I try to make up with her?
I fell out very badly with my friend because I found that we had drifted apart. She has very loose morals and doesn't seem to be able to get through life without a man going from one to another cheating. Her latest man is the rudest, most irriating man I've ever met who makes me feel very uncomfortable. At a friend's wedding he got drunk and started graphically explaining what my friend was like in bed. I was mortified and discretely told her but she seemed to be pleased!
They turned up to my engagement party and announced their engagement to "close friends" having only been together for a few months. She had no ring and had been proposed to drunkenly in a pub in front of his friends.
I realise that I am a bit (!) judgemental from time to time and it is coming up to when I send my wedding invites out. I do miss our friendship, although she may have changed for good. Should I bury the hatchet and invite her? It will mean inviting him too. Help please!
