In graphic design class, we have to design a campaign to call people to action. My action is to get people to grow a garden. Does anybody have any ideas for a clever slogan or tagline that I can add on the posters?

I am writing a story in the past about my fifth birthday party. I want to say, "My father had a surprise for me."

Would it be:

[1] Mon père a eu une surprise pour moi.

[2] Mon père avait une surprise pour moi.

I thought I knew the difference between the two tenses, but I am having trouble deciding if this is a "completed action in the past" or "background description in the past." (seems like it could go either way?). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have a paid domain name through yahoo that I used with a free geocities site. Geocities closed this month. I still have time left on my domain that I have paid for. I went to freewebs and made a free site there. I have been in help sections all day trying to figure out how to get my yahoo domain to go to my new freewebs site. I tried to move it using the registry key, but it did not work. Any ideas?

Yes, for homework we had to identify which substances where homogeneous and which were heterogeneous. Three stumped me. Please help if you know the answer!

I have to make up my own baton routine to a song of my choosing... but I can't narrow down the number of songs I want to use! Do you have any suggestions for a song that I could make up a routine to? Keep in mind that it needs a decent tempo so that it doesn't drag.

A friend and I recently got into an arguement over Mimi's death. I say she needed to live, my opponent says she needed to die. I remember seeing a great website a year ago (when movie came out) that explained why Mimi needed to live, how it was symbolic, how it proved the theme etc. Does anyone know of this site (or any like it)?

Or, can you explain why she needed to live or die in your opinion?

I was looking in several different playbills and I saw that each character had a stand-by and an understudy. I thought the terms were interchangeable, but I guess not. Does anyone know the difference?
