Mr. Brumby says it is up to the public to do something about the thugs walking our streets. Do you think this is the correct approach or just another cop out by a government and judicial system that has not got a clue?

Saw this section on bull fighting and thought it would be good to find out. The best bit for me is when the bull gores the people who are torturing it, but I'd only see that on a news report as I don't watch it. Disgusting activity.

The only people who are going to gain from such policies are the employers who will reap greater profits. Isn't the real answer to make all workers share holders in their own industries so that they share in the profits? That's a terrible idea isn't it? Because it might close the gap between rich and poor and smacks of Communism.

To an outsider it seems that lies and distortions are fed through the media and accepted as fact without question. Where is your sense of cynicism and an understanding that everybody has an ulterior motive for saying something. That sentence is not true but it is worth thinking about it before anything is accepted.

My feeling is that a modern compassionate society cannot be properly governed by a right wing system because , by it's nature, it cannot govern for all of the people, all of the time.

It can also be said that left wing governments fail everybody for the same reasons. So does that mean that modern governments have to maintain policies right down the centre if they are going to succeed or survive?

Surely cultures are open to change and when in their cultural past did they have the ability to sail into antarctic waters with the equipment they now posess? One would have to hope that some things in their cultural past have already changed.

At least that should ensure we don't hear from them for even longer. Ha! Ha! Sorry. I can't help it.

If the figures being produced really reflected the feelings of the electorate we would be wasting our time voting tomorrow.

There must be many, probably the vast majority of police who secretly welcome the investigation of those they know are not upholding their responsibilities but feel threatened by the few who are not doing the right thing.

Isn't this a chance for Kevin Rudd to come up with a policy to use that money to create a more sustainable future for all Australians, and not just the wealthy, by investing in health, education and infrastructure. A poll on channel 7 this morning shows how many Aussies feel on this subject.

Because an election is near the Libs are making sure their watch dog is keeping an eye on AWA's, but just how dilligent do you think they will be if they win at the polls? My guess is they will look the other way.

They have reduced spending on health, education and a number of other things while increasing spending on the private sector. At the same time they have introduced the most unfair IR laws outside the US and some third world countries. I don't mind if their new vision is honest but if it is the usual lies then I will not be surprised.

In particular the way Presidents are permitted to pardon convicted criminals. I know it happens on many acknowledged corrupt regimes, but why the US. It seems very strange to those of us who live in democracies which do make big efforts to avoid corruption.
