Who should McCain and Obama choose as their running mate?
In your opinion, who should each candidate choose as their running mates? Who would complement each candidate the best and help each candidate the most?
2 個解答Elections1 十年前Has anyone else put 2 and 2 together?
1990's:
Bill Clinton President.
NAFTA, (one of Bill Clinton's presidential signatures ratified.)
Wal Mart dominates the retail sales market.
Hillary Clinton on Wal Mart Board
2000's:
More American Jobs moving to Mexico (a NAFTA signatory) than ever before.
Wal Mart no longer soley provides "Made in the USA" merchandise as they had since their conception.
Ideas starting to float around about a North American unified currency like the Euro. (A logical next step after NAFTA ratification)
Hillary Clinton running for President
2010's:
Hillary Clinton elected president in 2008.
No more US Soverenty
New North Amercian Union complete with currency.

12 個解答Politics1 十年前Teenager Advise Please!!!!?
I have a 13 year old girl. She is a person that my wife and I marvel at most of the time. She is smart and studies hard. She is good to her sister, willingly babysitting when asked. She has a big heart and is willing to help people. We go to church and she volunteers and plays volleyball. Here comes the problem....She is VERY pretty and mature (looking) for 13. Like most teenagers, she is interested in sex and curious about alcohol. We have caught her having sex and know she has been dipping into our liquor cabinet (marked bottles). Her mother and I are at our wits end and don't know what else to do. We have caught her having sex before and thought that we had said and done the right things to get her to think about the consequences of her actions, but we have caught her again. The alcohol is a new development.
Any advise for a father that doesn't need to pull his own hair out. Mother nature is taking care of that naturally.
Thanks

Does anyone else believe that this sort of thinking and these sorts of questions is part of the reason we are in the shape we are in today? Politics has gotten so polarized. There seems to be this great cavern between the two political parties. Why? When you really step back away from the forest, you can see that both parties really want the same things, they just disagree on how to get there. So why all the hate? Is this what we really want our children to learn? What service are we doing them by all this hatred?
8 個解答Civic Participation1 十年前What do you look for in a funeral home?
I am a 5th generation funeral director at my family's 79 year old funeral home. With our ever changing society, our profession constantly struggles to adapt. As a matter of curiousity, I am wondering if anyone would be willing to convey their honest (and serious thoughts) on what they look for when choosing a funeral home? Does anyone seek recomendations of other professionals such as ministers, hospital chaplains, hospice chaplains, nurses, etc.? Is it all about price? What about customer service or value?
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
6 個解答Other - Society & Culture1 十年前Whatever happened to policing what your children do and see?
I am on a rampage aginst MySpace.com at the moment. I am also on a rampage aginst parents who don't supervise their children and punish them when they need to be. I don't think there is a problem with the existance of MySpace.com, but I have a problem with the blatant allowance of underage children using MySpace. Young children have created MySpace accounts by lying about their age. Where are the parents? Why do they allow this to happen. I have looked at MySpace when I found my 12 year old's account (and took it away from her!!!) I found most of the site to be harmless enough, but I have a problem with parents telling thier children that it's okay to lie if they don't agree with the rules. (you have to be 16 to be on MySpace and there is a reason. MySpace doesn't police thier site, its use at your own risk). My openion is that MySpace is a simptom of the larger problem of parents wanting to be friends with their children instead of disciplining if necessary. Any Thoughts
1 個解答Other - Family & Relationships1 十年前Is it just me, or am I getting old?
Is it just me that is overloaded with how much we have to teach our children these days? As opposed to what our parents needed to teach us. I mean, now we have the internet, cell phones, i-pods and the list goes on and on. When I was a teenager, I had my bicicle then my car. I had a "boom box" (remember those) and a television in my room. All of which, my parents had to make sure I used correctly and at appropriate times. Now our children have the internet and a host of safety issues that goes along with it. The proper use of a cell phone as not to run up the national debt. Oh, and i-pods and illegal downloading. And all of which, and we are to make a living and sleep at the same time. Am I getting old or just feeling that way?
6 個解答Other - Family & Relationships1 十年前Should we talk her parents? Serious answers pelase!?
My wife and I caught our daughter creating a MySpace account. She is 12 years old. We also learned that at least 1 of her friends has a MySpace account as well. Now, according to MySpace's terms of use, you must be 16 years of age to have a MySpace account. This means that both our daughter and her friend have misrepresented their ages on their profiles. Both of which we have seen when we caught her. Our daughter also eluded to the fact that the parents of her friend knew that her friend had a MySpace account. My question is; should we talk to the other girls parents? Or worry about our daughter and let them handle theirs?
