This is so bizarre; I've never had anything like it happen. All of my burned CD's play fine on regular CD players, but when I put them into the computer, all of the media players (iTunes, WMP, etc.) recognize them as blank CD's! Needless to say, I can't import any of the tracks onto my computer.

My computer is a laptop. Toshiba Satellite with Windows XP. I've had it for two years. What could possibly be going wrong?

I'm a Mississippi college student with a limited budget, but I'd really like to go to a Harry Potter convention this upcoming summer. The main one I'm looking at right now is Portus, but my only concern is that I've heard the HPEF conventions tend to be overrun with fangirls. Is this true, and would Portus still be worth going to? Or would another convention possibly be better?

I know that bruises sometimes turn yellow when they're healing. But why? Is it some sort of chemical in the blood vessels or something? And why do some bruises turn yellow and some do not?

I know this is sort of a strange question to be posting in Yahoo Answers, but seeing as how I can't really find an efficient help desk on mtv.com, I don't really know where else to go.

I only watch one MTV show regularly, The Hills, but since I don't get the channel at school, I have to watch it online. However, there is another problem; the school's connection speed is too slow. This wouldn't be a problem if the video were presented all in one segment; however, it is split into three segments and I am tired of having to wait 10 minutes in between segments for the next segment to load. Does anyone know what I could do to watch the video all in one segment?

What do you think of Southerners and the South in general? I ask as someone who's lived in the South all my life.

I am trying to message my friend, but she is not getting any of the messages. Well, actually she got one message. I am getting all of her messages, but the Messenger refuses to send any of mine, except for that one. The only reason I know that she is getting them and not just ignoring me is because she texted me and told me my messages weren't coming through. It's been raining and lightning/thundering a bit here, as well as where she is, but Messenger has never done anything remotely like this, even in bad weather. I am so frustrated and extremely disappointed at the moment. Someone please, please help me to understand why Messenger might be doing this.

So I know that there are a few women name Shawn/Sean. And I always thought that Sean and Shawn were just two different spellings of the same name. But my friend says that Sean is the male spelling and Shawn is the female spelling, even though we both know guys with the name that spell it Shawn. Who's right?
