Most countries change who's on their currency every so often. Requirements are that they're a native of the country and are deceased. Often it includes figures from politics, the arts and science. Who would you pick for the USD?

I have recessed LEDs in my house, but the ones in the bathroom have a special casing (pictured) - presumably to keep moisture out. I've tried twisting and pulling reasonably hard to remove it to change the bulb, but it doesn't want to shift! I can't remove the bulb first as the casing is obscuring the fittings. Is there something obvious I'm missing?
2 個解答Do It Yourself (DIY)6 年前What are some post-op safe ways to get energy out of a puppy?
My 6 month old puggle (pug x beagle) puppy was neutered yesterday, but today he's pretty much back to his old self. The vet has recommended we take him for no more than a couple of 10 minute walks a day, which we're going to try to stick to. Trouble is he's used to walking for at least 90 mins, on top of playing with other dogs! He doesn't deal very well with being cooped up, and obviously it's not good for him to be jumping around the house with too much energy either. What ways did you find to keep your dog entertained?
5 個解答Dogs8 年前How do young earth creationists account for stone tools?
In many places in the world you can literally stumble upon stone tools. You can walk through fields in Europe and pick up flint arrowheads. The sheer numbers are easily explainable if we give ourselves hundreds of thousands of years to play with - but if the Earth is only 6 thousand years old or so why are there so many stone tools? This is especially pertinent since Adam knew about agriculture from the very beginning, 'through painful toil you will eat food from [the earth] all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.' (Genesis 3:17-18). Why would we make so many tools if we knew about better forms of feeding ourselves and didn't need to hunt for food?

4 個解答Rock and Pop1 十年前Would you be a colonist on Mars if you could never return to Earth?
The Martian Mayflower ship contains a couple of hundred people - you won't be too lonely
You will only be able to take a spouse and any children under 18 you already have. No other family.
The chances of success are high, but not certain (more than the original Mayflower at least!)
You cannot ever return to Earth. It's a one way ticket.
You cannot communicate with Earth instantly. There is a 4 1/2 minute communication delay - so no phone calls from Earth, though email is possible.

If science could analyse the structure of (say) bacon and reproduce it entirely synthetically (possibly without nerves; no possibility of any feeling) would you eat it?
If not, would you still have an ethical objection to it?

If there was a modern equivalent of the Spanish civil war (those who wanted a fascist dictatorship against those who wanted democracy) in another Western country (i.e. Europe, North America or Australasia), would you fight on their behalf like many foreigners did back in the 30s? What would persuade you?
7 個解答Politics1 十年前What would you do if you found $100 thousand?
Jared Gray is an 18-year-old high school student who works as a janitor for Southern Utah University. One day he found a bag of cash lying in the parking lot, obviously one of the school’s deposit bags.
The bag was labeled with the amount: $108,000. Jared returned the bag and got a full scholarship to the university for his honesty.
What would you have done? Kept the money, or returned it? Is such a large theft acceptable if it's almost impossible you'll be caught, or would you give it back even if there's no garuntee you'll get anything other than a "thankyou"?
